To use our custom printing solutions and have your very own design UV printed onto a Game Boy Color front shell, glass or both is simple.
If you are doing a glass only order, download the same template, but just ignore the design on the Shell layer (or change it to a solid color for visual representation of the shell you will put your lens on).
Using Photoshop or GIMP you can use our PSD template attached here to drop your artwork into the folder shown. Freely move the art around and resize it, having it crop to the shell shape.
Hide any logos or artwork you want and make it your own. Use our pre-defined glass window openings for standard LCDs, Q5 XL IPS screens, TFT screens or just make your own window or transparent areas as you like.
Leave any comments on your order for anything important we should look out for, or contact us if you need any help.
Once you are happy with the layout, save the design and send the PSD to us as part of your order.
DO NOT edit key parts of the template like renaming folders, deleting layers (just hide them). Just place your shell artwork in the Shell folder, and your glass design in the Glass folder replacing the sample designs.
If you would like the glass printing with a design, edit the image in the Glass folder with any design you like (or have the main artwork overlap by placing the same image in the Glass folder as well. There is a mask for the standard screen size (original, and IPS screens both have identical sizes). If you want smaller TFT lens just make the screen layer the size and position you would like. Please specify if you are ordering custom glass design too.
How many colors can my design have?
You can have as many colors in your design as you like. Our UV printer can print the whole range of colors.
What resolution does my artwork need to be?
The larger the better. If you provide low resolution artwork, the quality of the design will suffer. So as high quality as possible.
Artwork notes
We will happily print any design you send to us, but please be responsible and make sure the artwork you send us you have the rights to use it. We will not check the rights of images or art and presume if you send it to us, you have checked you are allowed to use it.
